is one of the top social networking sites. Twitter is now become powerful platform to share your thoughts and opinions as well. But the unknown part of twitter is that twitter is also best social media platform for robots. You probably have robot friends and followers and don’t even realise it! Of Course, Many wellknown twitter account is maintaining by twitter bots.

You can tweet status at specific time frame without accessing your account automatically. More, You can search user, tweets based on Geographical Location, Country, Category, Hashtag etc. You can follow the users, retweet, favourite tweet and more thing using twitter bots.

So how twitter bots work? How Bots can access Your Twitter? The answer is Twitter Application. Twitter let you create application for your account which provides wrapper between your bot and twitter account.

Twitter bots can do interesting things. You ask a question to @DearAssistant and it will tweet the answer much like Google Now.

Twitter provides App to use twitter service using standalone apps.

Step 1: Create Application

First of all create account on twitter. Twitter only allowed accounts that have verifies mobile phone to build apps. So once you have created an account, add your mobile phone with the Twitter account. Go to “Settings – Mobile” and verify your phone number.

Go to https://apps.twitter.com/app/new and create a new Twitter bot. Enter the application name, description and URL in the website field (say http://sgeek.org/). Application Name should be unique to identify your identity. Accept the terms, solve the captcha code and click the “Create your Twitter Application” button to build your first Twitter app. Callback URL field optional field, So you can leave it blank.

Step 2: Generate the Twitter Keys and Access Tokens

On the next page, click the “Keys and Access Tokens” tab and click on “Create my Access Token button”. It will generate the Consumer Keys and Access Tokens for your App. We’ll need them later in the Twitter App Script Development.

You can create more than one Keys and Access Tokes as per your need.

Step 3: Note the Keys and Tokens

The keys and secret tokens are generated for your Twitter Bot, make a note of both and do not share them with anyone.

Step 4: Set Permissions

New, Click the Permission tab and set permission to Read and Write. You can request Twitter by clicking the “Request email addresses from users” button.

Note:

It is recommended that you create a new Twitter account for the bot and not use a main account.

Your app is now ready to bust your bot.
